5 Easy Ways To Revolutionise Your Morning Coffee
5 Easy Ways
To Revolutionise Your Morning Coffee
Yup, I’m one of those religious coffee people. And if you clicked onto this, I bet you are too. I’m the type of girl that says things like ‘the only thing that gets me out of bed is coffee’ and ‘don’t talk to me until I’m caffeinated’. I know, so cringe. As someone who also has the same thing multiple times a day, I’m always looking for ways to revolutionise my morning coffee.
Usually, I opt for instant coffee with a twist. Oat milk is a must, and I add a tiny bit of flavoured syrup. Now, even typing that out I got bored, so imagine having that every single day. So I think it’s time us latte lovers stepped out a little, romanticised our coffee mornings and tried some of these unique coffee recipes.
Trust me, they’re super easy to do without needing a bunch of other ingredients. You likely have everything at home already, but if not, they easy to get your hands on. So, without further ado, here are 5 easy ways to revolutionise your morning coffee.
Shaken Espresso Iced Oat Latte
I’ve taken inspiration directly from the world renowned coffee house themselves, purely because they charge a hell of a lot for their coffee. If you have access to coffee at home, your fave milk and some brown sugar, you literally have everything you need to make this popular drink at home.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Brew your espresso shots as normal – if you use instant coffee (like me) then add your desired amount of instant coffee to a small glass jar. Add hot (not boiling) water and let it dissolve for 30 seconds.
Add your espresso shots into a shaker bottle, along with as many brown sugar spoonfuls you like and shake away, baby.
Once you’ve create a foamy, frothy liquid, pour this over a glass of oat milk and ice. The coffee mixture should sit above the milk at first because it’s less dense. Then, mix away. You can add a sprinkle of brown sugar on top if you prefer. If you try this out, I highly recommend Oatly milk (dark blue one). It’s honestly the best oat milk ever.
Dalgona Coffee
Ahhh how nostalgic. A throwback to lockdown. So, we all made Dalgona coffee right? And why did we ever stop???
Exactly. You don’t even need me to teach you this one, but if you’ve for some reason never come across Dalgona (also known as whipped) coffee before, let me introduce you to what carried our spirits high through that – somewhat – miserable period of our lives we’ll never, ever get back. 🙂
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Grab your whisk. Grab your coffee shots (you can literally create the coffee shots in the same way as before) and simply whisk the coffee mixture until it becomes a golden brown colour and fluffy in texture. This will take 3-5 minutes depending on your whisking skill. It’s really that simple.
Add your preferred milk and ice to a tall glass and add a dollop of whipped coffee on top. You can even save this coffee by freezing it. How cool?
OR you can try adding your whipped coffee to a mug, and pour over steamed milk for a hot coffee version. Enjoy!
Milk & Coffee Ice Cubes
Revolutionise your morning coffee with milk and coffee ice cubes. Yes, it tastes as good as it sounds. This is so straight forward and literally takes zero extra time in the morning. All you need to do is find some prep time to do the work.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Grab your fave ice cube tray of choice. This works EVEN BETTER in my opinion if you choose a fun shape, such as spheres, hearts, whatever you want.
Create your espresso shots or instant coffee shots – like in the previous recipes – and grab your milk and add these to your tray.
Allow them to freeze overnight and enjoy your iced coffee the next morning. The great thing about this recipe is now you won’t have watery iced coffee. Ew, I hate that.
Orange Americano
Okay, un-scrunch your nose, please. There’s a reason I put this one almost last, because if i put it first, you’d no doubt click off of this post.
WAIT, wait… just… hear me out before you exit off.
Look, if you like coffee and orange flavoured things, who’s to say you won’t like an Orange Americano? See. I know you’d come around. Let’s get into it.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Grab an orange and juice it by hand. If you’re squeezed for time – pun absolutely intended – you can use orange juice but if you can make your own, i’d highly recommend it.
Brew your coffee like normal and add the orange juice to a glass.
Add a generously handful of ice to your glass and top with your espresso shot. Enjoy!
Sweet Cold Cream
And finally, another easy way to revolutionise your morning coffee is by creating a sweet cold cream to add on top of your coffee.
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Make your coffee as usual. All the way to the end.
To make the cold cream, add some barista oat milk (or your preferred milk) into a glass.
Then add vanilla syrup (1-2 teaspoons) and add to your frother OR if you don’t own one, grab your whisk/electric whisk and create a foamy mixture.
Then add on top of your coffee (preferably iced) and sip away.
