It’s officially boot season. That’s right. The weather is making a turn and as the end of the year comes closer, the weather gets wetter. And wouldn’t you like to know which are the trendiest boots to wear this autumn? Well, keep reading because I’ll be sharing just that.

How To Choose The Right Boots

When it comes to shoes, I always invest. Comfort = happiness, and if you like being happy, then get comfortable with spending a little more on shoes because it’s worth it. Having the right shoes for your feet can make the world of a difference. Shoes that are too tight or stiff can uncomfortable and harder to break in. Are you the type of person to spend time breaking in new shoes? Didn’t think so!

It all comes down to materials. Choosing the right material is important when it comes to shoes that are comfy, warm, protective and long-lasting. As someone who used to work specifically in the shoe industry, I learnt a lot about shoes and feel confident enough to pass on the knowledge I’ve learnt. Hopefully, this will help you make an informed decision come your next shopping trip.

Material Is Everything

Choosing the right material is key when it comes to shoes. For shoes that can withstand rainy and wet weather, opting for a robust leather can help keep the air circulated within your shoe. You wouldn’t wear suede or nubuck in the rain because these types of leathers are easily damageable and will end up looking too worn. Likewise, Gore-tex shoes are a great option for keeping your feet dry, too. Gor-tex is a newer technology that guarantees waterproof shoes. Other materials include synthetic leather, which are arguably not the best for the environment, but can withstand a lot of wear if they are made well.

The Key To Good Shoes Is Looking After Them

If you want your expensive shoes to look better for longer, you should look after them properly. This includes nourishing balms and water resistant sprays for soft leathers, as well as restorer products for scuffs. You can also go the extra mile by stuffing your soft leather shoes with tissue or moulds to help them keep their shape and reduce the creases when you’re not wearing them.

UGG’s Classic Mini

You have no idea how happy I am to see UGG’s making a comeback! It’s such a throwback. Back in the early 2010’s, tall UGG’s were in. Everyone had a pair – or a dupe of some kind. In fact, it’s not even about the brand, it’s the style. Sure, this brand in particular are known for their various dupes, but it’s fair to say everyone had a pair of the tall fury boots way back when. Now, the mini’s are trending. This new style of UGG boot is making the rounds – and yes, they’ve absolutely caught my eye.

Classic Knee High Boots

A classic if you ask me. Having a sleek pair of knee high boots is essential. Not just for this season, but for all the seasons to come. If you invest wisely, you’ll have a pair of super stylish boots to last you for many years. These types of boots look great paired with jeans, mini skirts, dresses, whatever you want.

If you are looking to invest in a pair, consider a chunkier heels so they’re easier to walk in. Right now, a more square toe is trending, but you can opt for a classic pointed toe if you prefer your boots to look timeless.

The Chelsea Boot

Another classic boot. The Chelsea boot has been around for years, and will continue to be the most popular and practical shoe choice. These boots were the go-to during my time at school. These should look adorable with tights and a mini skirt, but again, you can wear them with whatever you want. I think the chunkier the sole, the better. So consider that detail when shopping for your forever-pair of Chelsea boots.

The Welly

I know this one is obvious, but if you’re like me, you live in a wet and rainy climate come October. Even if you don’t want to step a foot outside, you must have a pair of wellies! But make it cute!

Wellies are the most practical shoe for most outdoor activities especially if rain is forecasted. And yet, they look so stylish when dressed accordingly. Take inspo from the images below. The most common colours I see are this beautiful dark green and black. Do you own a pair of wellies, yet?
